Often, artists participating in a WAE event will come from a developing country. WAE provides assistance to these artists in promoting their art and connecting them to producers, agents, and educational opportunities. WAE also assists in identifying and contacting artisans whose work best represents the character of their country and provides opportunities for the sale of arts and crafts to support the artists and further build cultural understanding and appreciation. Periodically, WAE supports fundraising for specific efforts such as tsunami, hurricane or famine relief through the sale of arts and crafts or through donations at an artistic performance.
